What is Direct Sales?
Direct Sales marketing is a simple and
effective way to market products or
services direct to the consumer. It
involves the sale of a consumer product or
service, person-to-person, away from a
fixed retail location by an independent
salesperson. Products are sold through
in-home product demonstrations, parties,
group meetings or demonstrations, over
the telephone, over the Internet and
through one-on-one selling.
Direct selling is a growing industry with
sales in the U.S. having doubled in the last
decade to nearly $25 billion and are now
more than $82 billion worldwide*.

Yes. Direct selling is a rapidly growing
industry. U.S. sales totaled $28.7 billion in
2002, up from 26.7 billion in 2001, with more
than 55 percent of the American public
having purchased goods or services
through direct selling. That's more than the
number who have purchased through
television shopping and on-line computer
services combined. People value the
products available through direct selling
and 45 percent of Americans want to buy
from direct sellers. Those who have
purchased by direct selling are exceeded
only by the percentage of those who have
purchased via retail stores (96%) or
through mail order catalogs (83%). As
mentioned, worldwide sales are also
strong with nearly $85 billion in sales.*

public interest in purchasing through
direct selling (38%) exceeding those who

Whats The Difference Between Direct
Sales and Multilevel Marketing?
Direct selling refers to a distribution
method, whereas multilevel marketing
refers more specifically to a type of
compensation plan found in direct selling.
A direct selling company that offers a
multilevel compensation plan pays its
representatives/distributors based not
only on one's own product sales, but also
on the product sales of one's "downline"
(the people a representative/distributor
has brought into the business, and, in turn,
the people they have brought into the
business). In its purest form, Direct Sales
(as with Coastal Vacations) involves a sale
of a product or service to a consumer for
which the Qualified Salesperson keeps the
commission personally. The profit from a
sale is not shared with numerous people.

Income Opportunity - Pay Plan
The Coastal Compensation Plan* is very simple. Please
take a moment to review the following Diagram since it
outlines exactly how you will earn money marketing the
Coastal Travel Packages. This Compensation Plan is the
only approved way to earn commissions with Coastal
Vacations; anyone not adhering to this plan will lose their
ability to purchase packages from the Coastal Vacations
Wholesale Shipping Center!
It is important to understand the meaning of the following
words before reviewing the compensation plan:
Commission
The Profit received from the sale of a Coastal Travel
Packages are as follows:
$1,000 for a Level 1 Package
$3,000 for a Level 2 Package
$3,200 for a Premier Package (Level 1 & 2 combined)
$7,000 for a Level 3 Package
$9,705 for a Platinum Package (Level 1, 2 & 3 combined)
A Package can only be purchased from a qualified
Director who is qualified at that Level. The Director keeps
the profit and he/she sends the wholesale amount to the
Shipping Center for processing of the Package. (The
illustration only shows a commission of $1,000, a Level 1
Sale, however the process applies to all other Levels as
well.)
Director
The person you will actually purchase your Package from.
This is an individual who has qualified to market the
Coastal Packages and purchase them at the wholesale
cost from the Coastal Shipping Center. You must complete
a total of three sales (your own purchase plus two more)
to qualify as a Director; this is a once in a lifetime
qualification and is required for each Level.
You will be issued a`Directors Release, allowing you to
purchase at wholesale ($295 for Level 1, $500 for Level 2
& $500 for Level 3) directly from the Coastal Shipping
Center. As a Director you may also train other people to
become a qualified Director. For every single person you
train you will receive the first two sales you help them
with as your compensation. You will then provide that
person with a`Directors Release, so they can order
product at wholesale as well. It is your responsibility to
work with each of the people who were a qualifying sale
and profit from helping them qualify in the same manner.
Qualifying
Qualifying as a Director is very simple. Let's use an
Illustration to explain; this illustration has two characters
in it, the Old Pro, and the New Guy,:
A Vacuum Cleaner Sales Company has a very
experienced sales person on the team, the Old Pro. One
day the Old Pro says to the New Guy I will teach you how
to sell vacuums. The New Guy is excited and says" Great,
what do I need to do?" The Old Pro says, "It's actually very
simple, take your leads and set up several appointments.
I will go with you on those appointments. I will do the
presentations for you and teach you a few pointers I've
learned along the way. Now, since I am doing the
presentations and training you, I will keep the
commissions from the first two sales. However, during
the process, you will have learned exactly how to sell
vacuums and will be qualified to do so for the rest of your
life! Sound fair?" Ecstatic at how soon he will be profiting
from years of experience learned from the Old Pro he
declares. "That is incredible, let's get started today! " The
Old Pro even offers to assist the New Guy with questions
and hints down the road long after the Training
experience.
That is it! In the exact same manner, the qualified Director
you purchase your Package from will be responsible for
training and assisting you to QUALIFY as a Director. As a
Qualified Director you will do the same for those you
choose to work with.
